Welcome to Be Passiotive!

Passio…. what?

The first time I told a friend about this site, she actually thought I pronounced the word incorrectly. But that’s not a typographical error up there.

Passiotive is actually a combination of two of my most favorite words in the dictionary:

PASSIOn + posiTIVE = PASSIOTIVE

In a nutshell, PASSIOTIVE is a blog that will INSPIRE, GUIDE and MOVE you to live a passionate and positive life one day at a time.

Why be PASSIONATE?

Searching for passion on the ever reliable Google would lead to varied definitions:

  • strong feeling or emotion
  • heat: the trait of being intensely emotional
  • rage: something that is desired intensely; “his rage for fame destroyed him”
  • mania: an irrational but irresistible motive for a belief or action
  • a feeling of strong sexual desire
  • love: any object of warm affection or devotion; “the theater was her first love”; “he has a passion for cock fighting”;
  • the suffering of Jesus at the crucifixion

But I like the way Merriam Webster defines passion as “an intense emotion compelling action” and how it is synonymous to zeal “which implies an energetic and unflagging pursuit of an aim or devotion to a cause.”

When you are infused with passion, life takes on more meaning and purpose. You wake up excited and ready to tackle your day. Your mind is brimming with dynamic ideas, you can’t wait to get started doing great things.

When you’re passionate about something, you become aware of the reason you’re here and you realize your value.

Passion shows you what you’re meant to do.

Why be positive?

Positive is defined by Google as:

  • characterized by or displaying affirmation or acceptance or certainty etc.; “a positive attitude”; “the reviews were all positive”; “a positive benefit”; “a positive demand”
  • having a positive electric charge; “protons are positive”
  • plus: involving advantage or good; “a plus (or positive) factor”

Being positive doesn’t mean being blind to negative circumstance. It means acknowledging that negative things do happen and refusing to dwell on them.

It’s about expecting the best without preparing for the worst because you believe the best will always come.

When you are positive, you choose to look at the brighter side of things because you know that life is too short to whine and grumble about all the bad things in life.

I place an emphasis on choose because I think being positive is not an attitude you are born with, it is a choice that you make everyday in every circumstance. No matter who you are or where you are in the world, you can choose to be positive about your life.

Positivity helps you to be happy.

Which do you choose?

Put together PASSIONATE and POSITIVE are powerful words that can make a difference between:

…a life of boredom and a life of excitement

…a life of failure and a life of success

…a life of poverty and a life of wealth

…a life of misery and a life of happiness

…a life of hate and a life of love

Which one do you choose?

I choose to live a PASSIOTIVE life!
